Twelve months programme in connection with Centenary Celebration
Feb 2019: Inauguration of new building for Puthen Mandiram (old age home for destitute women at Azhoor)
March 2019: Launch of Mahima Women’s Hostel
April 2019: The month was dedicated to spiritual activities including discourses on Srimad
Bhagavad Gita, with the help of Sri Chinmaya Mission, Thiruvananthapuram. The Guru,
Swami. Abhayananda Saraswathi, presented the subject in a simple and interesting manner which the children enjoyed very much.
May 2019 : Food festival and handicraft exhibition at Mandiram Campus.
June 2019 : The wedding of Ms. Priyalatha, a resident of Mandiram, was conducted.
July 2019 : Honouring the Pink Gang of Southern Railway.
August 2019 : Art competition for residents held by playback singer Sri. G. Venugopal (Sasneham) in memory of artist Rajesh
September 2019 : "Padha Pooja" of former Mandiram office-bearers by residents.
October 2019 : Snehasparsham, distribution of merit-cum-means scholarship of Rs. 1000/- each to 100 deserving school children.
Release of 2nd edition of Chinnamma Amma’s biography, Thyaganidhiyaya Amma, by Prof. R. Raveendran Nair.
November 2019: Kudumba Sangamam, a get together of former residents and staff of Mahila Mandiram.
Postal Cover release by P&T Department in honour of centenary celebrations of Mahila Mandiram.
December 2019 : ENT, medical checkup at Panchavadi for the children as well as residents of the neighbourhood at Vellanad Panchayat.
100th Anniversary
January 5th, 2020 was a day of celebration as the Mandiram family members came together to honour our founding member and other exceptional women who were our pillars of support over the years. Sri. Raman Pillai Senior BJP Leader, Kerala was the Chief Guest.
Photo exhibition on ‘100 years: History of Mahila Mandiram’ inaugurated by Sri. Kanayi Kunhiraman.
Workshop organized in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, on ‘Brain Storming of Women Empowerment’.
The Official Centenary celebrations was inaugurated by Hon. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on February 3rd, 2020 at Tagore Theater, Vazhuthacaud in presence of an august audience.
Presidential address was given by Hon’ble Minister for Health and Social Justice Smt. K K Shailaja.
Former resident of the Hindu Mahila Mandiram Kum. Selvi K received the Centenary Award for Life-time Achievements.
Many invited dignitaries spoke highly about Mandiram’s history and its journey. A variety entertainment programme was also held by Hindu Mahila Mandiram family members.
SMSS Hindu Mahila Mandiram souvenir was released by the Hon’ble Governor.
First sale of Mahima Creations products was presented by the Governor to our patron, Princess Aswathy Thirunal Gowri Lakshmi Bayi.
A photo exhibition ‘Down Memory Lane’ was also a part of this event.
