Adult residents of Mahila Mandiram and others from the neighbourhood are employed at the unit. Customised womens’ and children’s garments are stitched here. There are also training classes in tailoring and embroidery.
Training is provided in book-binding and notebook-making. We take and execute printing orders. The unit employs two differently abled women.
Tasty, vegetarian snacks and meals are delivered to residents of nearby localities. The food is priced economically. Former residents of the Mahila Mandiram are employed here as cooks. One of them is differently abled with speech and hearing impairment.
Photo-copying, lamination and spiral binding services are available at our campus. Residents have been trained to run the unit.
Our goal is to empower women. Skill development programmes are conducted by Government trainers. Training is provided in stitching, tailoring, fashion designing, cloth bag/jute bag/paper bag making. The unit made non-woven and cloth masks during the COVID period.
Mahila Mandiram provides free breakfast for underprivileged school children every day.
